Satonoie Monogoto Home Tour

Entrance
My heart races at the gate where the samurai passed.
It’s about a five-minute drive from Taketa City’s castle town. At the bottom of a steep slope lies a small shrine dedicated to the god of water. Just beyond it stands the Monogoto family home. There’s a bamboo grove right next to it, and the garden is planted with various fruit trees—so if you visit at the right time of year, you can even enjoy picking the fruit!

Tatami Sofa Space
Relax on a comfortable sofa
A spacious area where you can relax leisurely while gazing at the garden view.
We have prepared coffee and tea sets, so please enjoy them on the veranda.

Bedrooms | Sleeping areas
Sat on the veranda, drinking Japanese sake.
There are two beds in the tatami room. You can spend time enjoying the views of the veranda and garden, and feeling the changing seasons. *Two futons can be laid out as an option.

Second Bedrooms | Separate bedrooms
Listening to the garden's voice on a quiet morning
A separate bedroom with two semi-double beds side-by-side. A welcome space for groups of friends and multi-generational trips. Please enjoy the garden view from the window.

Kitchen & Dining
Oita is delicious for both meat and vegetables.
The kitchen, renovated from a dirt floor, is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware. Grilling brand-name meats like Oita Wagyu or Okubungo Pork along with local vegetables makes for a superb dinner.

Bathroom & Toilet
In a clay-walled bathroom
Renovated bathroom and washroom using plaster mixed with Aso soil. We're also gifting onsen (hot spring) tickets, so you can either go to the hot springs or enjoy the earthen wall bathroom.

It is most cost-effective from the official website.
